List: Top Ten Countries of Origin of Tourists to Spain Date: July 2010 Source: INE - Spanish National Statistics Institute Base: All tourist visitors to Spain recorded as entering the country during the month of July 2010 Notes: The INE recorded a total of 6,979,896 tourists in July 2010, which represented a 4.5 per cent increase over the same period in 2009. 73 per cent of the 2010 total arrived by plane. The province of Catalunia was the most popular region for visitors (26.6 per cent of the total), followed by the Balearic Islands (24.4 per cent) and then Andalucia (13.3 per cent).
